Gift City

Gift City project is a year-round fundraiser initiative by YAMM. Gift City is Phase II of YAMM’s PreneurMe Program, a youth employment apprenticeship. PreneurMe Phase I is a series of workshops that teach and encourage entrepreneurship skills.

PreneurMe Phase II, is the hands-on experience, which has created Gift City. ​​Gift City will become a nonprofit partner receiving donations for sale from several product companies that sell bulk holiday and special occasion gifts/items. Gift City will be creating a youth community development initiative for youth ages 12-16 making its mark in the gift shops industry, providing entrepreneur skills and hands-on experience enabling the YAMM mission for youth to become self-sufficient giving early employment experience to youth who otherwise are not employable due to age.

YAMM recognizes that most youths enter the workforce in a major retail or restaurant industry. With the facts of entering the workforce in North Carolina, YAMM will be able to provide youth ages 12-16 with retail experience before entry from management operations for sales. By creating an environment where youth can go to afterschool and have hands-on experience, youth will receive assistance in their acceleration of retail knowledge and business management upon entrance into the workforce.
