Does your child struggle with vocabulary, writing, and math?

YAMM's Lettered Leaders program is here to help. Designed for students in Winston-Salem, this unique program uses the classic Scrabble game to turn learning into a fun and effective experience.

Why Vocabulary and Math Matter

Strong skills in vocabulary and math are essential for academic success. Vocabulary helps children understand what they read and express themselves clearly, while math is a critical skill for problem-solving and logical thinking. Without these foundational skills, students may fall behind in school and feel frustrated.

How Lettered Leaders Works

At Lettered Leaders, we use Scrabble to boost vocabulary and math skills in a fun, interactive way. Here’s how it helps:

  • Vocabulary Building: Through Scrabble, students discover new words, learn their meanings, and practice using them. This helps them expand their vocabulary in a natural, engaging way.

  • Math Skills Improvement: The game requires students to add up points and use multiplication for bonuses, which strengthens their basic math skills.

  • Writing Enhancement: By forming words and writing them down, students improve their spelling and writing skills.

  • Critical Thinking: Planning where to place words on the board helps students develop strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Benefits for Your Child

Parents have found that children who participate in Lettered Leaders gain confidence in their vocabulary, writing, and math. With regular practice, they see improvements not only in their grades but also in their attitude toward learning. The program provides a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
